Basketball Signee Booker Receives State Player of the Year Honors

CLEMSON -- Clemson basketball signee Trevor Booker was named the Gatorade Player of the Year in the state of South Carolina on Tuesday. The 6-7 power forward averaged 21.9 points and 16.4 rebounds per game as a senior for Union High School. Booker was also chosen as the 3A Player of the Year this season.

Most recently, he played in the Carolinas All-Star Basketball Classic, where he pulled down a game-high 15 rebounds for the South Carolina squad. Booker, who scored over 1,000 points and grabbed over 1,000 rebounds in his high school career, was also named the Spartanburg Herald-Journal Player of the Year.

Booker will join the Tiger basketball program in the fall, along with fellow signees Karolis Petrukonis (Norfolk, VA), David Potter (Bradenton, FL), and A.J. Tyler (Palm Harbor, FL).
