, who chose the Tigers last month over interests from other programs, including Georgia Tech, Mississippi State, Kennesaw State, Mercer and Georgia Southern, according to on-line recruiting services.
The 6-foot-5 left-hander joins Brookwood infielder/right-handed pitcher Lucas Sims on Clemson’s commitment list. Sims committed to the Tigers earlier this summer.
Erwin is currently attending the prestigious East Coast Pro Showcase in Lakeland, Fla., and could not be reached for comment.

“He’s come on strong of late,” Champitto said of the rising senior. “He threw well for us (last spring) and then went out this summer and really blew up. I’m really glad he’s coming back for another year.”
Erwin went 7-4 with a 3.09 ERA and a team-best 68 strikeouts in 65 2/3 innings in helping the Wildcats (20-12) to their first state playoff appearance since 1997 this past spring.
