Corbin Mills Named All-ACC

by -

Clemson junior Corbin Mills has been named to the All-Atlantic Coast Conference golf team. It is the first selection for Mills, who leads the team with a 70.96 stroke average this season, on pace to be the fourth best in Clemson history.

Mills has 13 under par rounds, including eight rounds in the 60s, helping the Tigers to an NCAA Tournament bid for the 31st consecutive year. Clemson begins play in the NCAAs on May 17 in Bowling Green, KY.

Mills won the US Public Links Championship last summer to qualify for the 2012 Masters. He also played in the 2012 RBC Heritage on the PGA Tour. He won the Jerry Pate Invitational last October with a 201 score, tied for the lowest 54-hole score in Clemson history. He recently finished sixth at the ACC Tournament.

Earlier this spring, Mills was named to the 2012 United States Palmer Cup team and was one of 10 semifinalists for the Ben Hogan Award. His career stroke average of 72.45 is seventh best in school history.

This is the first time Mills has been named All-ACC. He has been a Ping All-Regional selection each of his first two years. The all-region and All-America teams will be announced in early June.
