Carlnel Williams - Defensive Back
Height: 6-3   Weight: 190   Hometown: N.Augusta, SC (Midland Valley HS)   Class: 2005
ESPN: NR

Carlnel Williams is a big athletic prospect that is drawing interest from several schools this summer. Maryland, Tennessee, Georgia, South Carolina, Nebraska and Wake Forest have all shown interest.

Williams is waiting on his first offer, but is looking to capitalize on a good summer with a big season. "I went to a one-day camp at South Carolina, and I thought it went well. Coach Stockstill has sent me a few letters, and he came by one of my spring practices to watch me. Practice starts this Friday, I just can't wait to get back into it."

Midland Valley has been a strong contender in 3-A over the past few years, but Williams feels they are being overlooked this season. "This is the first time in three years we haven't been ranked. I don't want to say it is a slap in the face, but it definitely has me motivated. We are young up front on offense, but we are very strong on the perimeter. Our defense will carry us."

Williams is looking to put himself among the elite players in South Carolina this season. "I want to have a good season. It would be nice to cap it off with either a selection in the North/South game or the Shrine Bowl."
