Former Clemson QB Tajh Boyd arrested in Greenville |
Former Clemson quarterback
Tajh Boyd has been charged with an assault stemming from a nightclub incident in July. Boyd turned himself into authorities after being contacted by police on Tuesday morning.
Here are the details according to the Greenville City police report: While working as the front desk officer, I was approached by the victim that stated on July 11th, 2016 around 2330 hours while working as the doorman at On the Roxx, he was approached by a black male that was attempting to get inside. He advised the subject that they were at full capacity and that he would have to wait in line just like everyone else. The subject continued to argue with him until the owner stepped outside. At that time, the subject attempted to get into his face. He then shoved him with two hands in his chest causing him to fly through the doorway knocking a female and himself to the ground. He stood back up and told him to leave again, and he, and his friend left. He overheard people in the line state that the subject was former Clemson quarterback Tajh Boyd. He did not report the incident right after it happened because he wanted to speak with his attorney first. On the Roxx nightclub released a statement on Tuesday afternoon after the arrest of Tajh Boyd. "In reference to the recent charges brought against Tajh Boyd, On the Roxx is not pressing charges nor did On the Roxx bring these allegations to the attention of the police. This incident transpired between an independent contractor hired to work the front door who personally filed charges against Mr. Boyd of his own accord without On the Roxx prior knowledge. The first priority of On the Roxx is the safety and security of it's patrons and we will cooperate with officials on this matter however all further questions regarding this case should be directed to the victim as this is between him and Mr. Boyd. Boyd passed for 11,904 yards with a 64.3% completion rate, 107 touchdowns, and 39 interceptions during his outstanding career at Clemson. He also rushed for 1,100 yards and another 26 scores on the ground. The former fan-favorite was also the ACC Player of the year in 2012. Hurts my heart to see that. All love for #TB10
