ESPN projects Two Tigers to be named 2016 All-Americans |
The College Football season is still a few months away from his triumphant return, and ESPN is already trying to
project the 2016 College Football All-America team.
Clemson junior quarterback and 2015 Heisman finalist Deshaun Watson was listed as the only quarterback in the projections. Sorry Oklahoma fans, no Baker Mayfield. "The first FBS player (Watson) to ever have 4,000 passing yards and 1,000 rushing yards in a single season is back ... and may do it again," ESPN said. Other ACC players on the All-America team for the offense included Florida State running back Dalvin Cook and his teammate offensive tackle Roderick Johnson Jr. Senior linebacker Ben Boulware was listed as a projected All-American on the defensive side of the ball. "The Tigers' top returning tackler (135 stops in 2015) should be even better in 2016," ESPN said. Florida State safety Derwin James was the only other ACC player listed on the All-America team for the defense.
