Clemson falls in latest ESPN Power rankings

by - Assoc. Editor -

ESPN has released its College Football Power Rankings after week 2 and Clemson dropped two spots to #5 overall behind Alabama, Florida State, Ohio State, and Houston.

"While Clemson's 30-24 win over Troy wasn't pretty, it was a win and survival is the name of the game in this already slightly nutty season," ESPN.com said. "Is the offense a concern? Perhaps. A matchup with South Carolina State should provide another chance for Deshaun Watson & Co. to iron out some persistent wrinkles before the ACC slate starts at Georgia Tech on Sept. 22, a Thursday night showdown in Atlanta."

The Top 25 power rankings were Alabama, Florida State, Ohio State, Houston, Clemson, Michigan, Stanford, Washington, Wisconsin, Louisville, Texas, Tennessee, Michigan State, Texas A&M, Oklahoma, Notre Dame, Iowa, Georgia, Ole Miss, LSU, Oregon, Baylor, Arkansas, Florida, and UCLA.
