2018 RHP commits to Clemson

by - Assoc. Editor -

2018 RHP/3B David Sharpe from Dacula, Georgia (Mill Creek HS) has committed to Clemson on Sunday according to his Twitter account.

Sharpe is an exceptional young pitcher and is rated #93 overall by Perfect Game USA. He has a fastball that is already 89 mph with action and has a sharp breaking slider, 76 mph curveball and a 77 mph changeup.

Other physical measurables include a 78.972 mph bat speed at impact, 27.284 hand swing speed max and a .138 time to impact between forward swing movement and contact.

Perfect Game USA profile in 2014: Davis Sharpe is a 2018 RHP/MIF/3B with a 6-0 165 lb. frame from Dacula, GA who attends Mill Creek HS. Young athletic build, slender and projectable. Compact arm action, tight 3/4's arm slot, rotational delivery with a swinging front leg, repeats his mechanics well for a young pitcher. Mid-70's fastball, topped out at 78 mph early, can throw his fastball to both sides of the plate, mostly straight. Curveball flashes good spin and some 11/5 depth. Got in a nice grove and controlled the strike zone and was effective. Right handed hitter, has some hand quickness and a good swing, keeps it simple and direct to the ball, has some hitting tools to develop. Showed good athleticism in infield drills with soft hands and good balance charging the ball. Will continue to improve with additional strength and physical maturity. Very good student.
