Clemson continues to excel in NCAA Graduation Success rate

by -

Clemson’s athletic department again tied its school record with a 91% Graduation Success Rate in the NCAA's most recent report released Wednesday, in which data from the incoming classes of 2007-10 academic years were included. The overall athletic department rate of 91 ties for seventh nationally among public institutions.

The 91 percent rate ties an institutional high set each of the last three years in the overall graduation rate, and five programs: baseball, men’s golf, men’s tennis, women’s tennis and volleyball each recorded perfect 100 scores. Twelve of Clemson’s 14 sports eclipsed the national average for NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision schools.

"Our coaches and staff emphasize graduating our student-athletes from the moment they arrive on campus,” Director of Athletics Dan Radakovich said. “The continued recognition of the Graduation Success Rate success is a testament to the hard work of all of our students along with the guidance of our coaches and staff.”

The football program posted an 85 percent graduation success rate, its highest since the data was first released in 1998. Baseball posted a perfect 100 for the first time, exceeding its previous best by five points. Men’s tennis earned its third-straight 100, and volleyball has recorded a perfect 100 graduation success rate since the metric began being released.
