So the State drops Clemson beat writer Paul Strelow

Jan 11, 2010, 3:45 PM

as a budget cut back. Yet they keep the coot beat writers. Yet they claim to be unbiased, hmmm

I thought Strelow did a pretty good job.....

Jan 11, 2010, 4:41 PM

mostly I read the Wednesday live chats after the fact...thought he was a decent writer and fairly covered Clemson.
Maybe they'll hire Korncoot to cover us now.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Their sports page is titled GoGamecocks.com...

Jan 11, 2010, 4:50 PM

...what do you expect them to do? Besides, noone would wipe their a$$ with that rag outside Richland County.

Neil White to cover Clemson now??? He

Jan 11, 2010, 5:06 PM

has NEVER had a positive thing to say about Clemson. He's a hang-on that The State has kept around doing stupid assignments.

You mean he's a dingleberry?***

Let us not be deceived by phrases about ‘Man taking charge of his own destiny.’ All that can really happen is that some men will take charge of the destiny of others. . . . The more completely we are planned the more powerful they will be. - C.S. Lewis

funny how both USC fans and Clemson fans

Jan 11, 2010, 5:09 PM

claim the state hates them. Don't read it, but seems like they are doing a good job to me...

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

That's normally a fairly good sign they are fair

Jan 11, 2010, 5:28 PM

I've always thought they've given Clemson fair coverage, and I read it daily. Not quite as much as SCU, but close. The same company that owns the State, owns the Greenville News, so they'll probably just let the News beat writer cover for both papers. Not to excited about that as the News has slipped badly as a paper. Strelow did a good job, but newspapers are quickly dieing off.

SOS from usc to USC?????

Jan 11, 2010, 5:55 PM

Wishful thinking....

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Dont think they aspire to go 7-6 every year beat UCLA

Jan 11, 2010, 6:05 PM

at home ONCE and go crazy about it....think the REAL USC has bigger ambitions than that

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

well, you have to realize that

Jan 11, 2010, 5:53 PM

1) It's better to stay in business than some fans think you aren't unbiased

2) when did a newspaper keeping beat writers for the team in the very same city mean that a paper is biased toward another team?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Dropping that HACK is a good thing for us, he sucks***
