Sounds like Peroneal Tendonitis

I had 2 cortisone shots in my foot for it in 1997 and again in 2003. It was the result rolling my ankle a few days earlier both times.

Pain was worse than a broken ankle. I could actually run on a broken ankle. I couldn't put my foot on the ground with full weight.

yeah I've had several shots in my heel for plantar fasciatis. A day later it was great. Getting the shot was painful

The first time the shot to numb the area was just as bad as the shot itself. They had 2 nurses holding my leg down.

2nd time, the doctor used a spray that froze the area. It was so cold it felt hot actually. I didn't feel a thing.

48 hours later it was like I had a new foot. A week later, back running like it never happened.

Absolutely, rolling or spraining an ankle is a hurting SOB that can cause a grown man cry out in pain when trying to walk on it!!!
