It's for academic performance along with football play. Will, like Wilkins, must have very, very good grades. Remember Wilkins graduated in 3 years.
Very happy for Will. He's been the holder for every field goal we've made in last 3 years. He's steady, it's not a flashy position but no less important. I've always been amazed that with all the star running backs, QB's and wide receivers, the field goal kicker always has the most points accounted for at the end of the year.

Yes it is very ironic, or I guess maybe more of a conundrum, that in the NFL, just like every other football team, the kicker scores the most points so you think he would be considered one of the most valuable players, but kickers are the lowest paid player on an NFL team. Jerry Jones is well known for considering kickers to be pretty much a commodity and Whoever the kicker is for the Cowboys is typically the lowest paid kicker in the league! They get very little respect in the NFL! But let them miss an extra point or a field goal that would’ve won a ball game and you think the world is ending and they are the biggest jerks that ever lived! They get all the blame when a team loses, but little to no credit when a team wins!
