On the clock: Defensive Tackle
The Clemson coaching staff has done an outstanding job of recruiting the offensive line in the 2015 class, but still has spots open on the defensive line. Who are the biggest targets? Full Story » |

We have more than 1 DL committed so far

Cervenka and Johnson.....both DTs......
And likely a DE committing soon.
I'd expect 3 of each minimum, so 3 more with Huggins as one of those 3. Really hoping we land at least one of the big fish you listed.

No mention of Darian Roseboro? He may start as a DE but

move to DT too, though with his speed he'd likely remain at DE.
He was a one time Clemson favorite, grew up a Tigers fan and appears to still have interest. But he is never mentioned in any D-Line recruiting articles.

including tackles and ends depending on the quality and timing of the commitments.

5 seems about right

We have 17 defensive linemen on right now. 2 of those were walk-ons. We typically target 15 OL and 15 DL on the roster. We'll lose 6 DL after this year. If the staff wanted to keep 17 (2 over target), they'll grab 6. If they want to have 15 on the roster, they'll take 4.
But, I think you're right in that if we end up with 7 studs wanting to commit, Dabo will take them. Also, we only have 3 DT/DEs that are Freshmen/RS Freshmen in 2014. I can see going over the typical 4 per year model and picking up 5 to better average out the underclassmen. With getting so many commitments so early, I think we'll know the answer to this question by the time the summer is out. At some point, we'll simply run out of scholarships.
