143 days of experience........................

Sep 9, 2008, 4:03 PM

You couldn't get a job at McDonalds and become district manager after 143 days of experience.

You couldn't become chief of surgery after 143 days of experience being a surgeon.

You couldn't get a job as a teacher and be the superintendent after 143 days of experience.

You couldn't join the military and become a colonel after a 143 days of experience.

You couldn't get a job as a reporter and become the nightly news anchor after 143 days of experience.

BUT....
From the time Barack Obama was sworn in as a United State Senator to the time he announced he was forming a Presidential exploratory committee, he logged 143 days of experience in the Senate. That's how many days the Senate was actually in session and working. After 143 days of work experience, Obama believed he was ready to be Commander In Chief, Leader of the Free World.... 143 days.

We all have to start somewhere. The Senate is a good start, but after only 143 days that's all it is - a start.

Yet strangely, a large sector of the American public is okay with this and campaigning for him. We wouldn't accept this in our own line of work, yet some are okay with this for the President of the United States of America?

We must all remember that this is not the next American Idol we are voting for.

I dare say the farqing up is ahead of Obomba

Sep 9, 2008, 4:07 PM

I just hope it isn't as POTUS.

I'm sorry.

Sep 9, 2008, 4:06 PM

I wasn't aware a certain though undisclosed amount of time (apparently longer than 143 days) in service to the United States Senate was a necessary qualifier to be elected President.

My bad.

Someone find this guy a newly minted heart surgeon, please!***

Nope, it's not American Idol....

Sep 9, 2008, 4:06 PM

which seems to be of much greater importance to most Americans.

Until we got a couple of celebrity candidates

Sep 9, 2008, 4:07 PM

In that case...

Sep 9, 2008, 4:10 PM

I'm all for giving the job to the one who performs the best Motown cover song.

serious ?-how much exp did Bush have before 2000?

Sep 9, 2008, 5:54 PM

just curious. i was just a junior in High School at the time. ~5 years as governor of Texas, right?

i just want to use that metric as some kind of barometer, so that i know how bad a president can be with said amount of experience.
