I was in Orlando this weekend. I was looking forward to the launch Saturday. Didn't happen for me. Great photos.

Thanks

Joe, looks like it's time for you to invest in better zoom

lens.

That just doesn't cut it for what we have come to expect from you.

Just kidding! Great pictures, as always.

Were you in Titusville?

About how far were you from the lauchpad? My brother and I are talking about going down in August for a launch. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

I was in Cocoa Beach...

found a great spot to watch.

My suggestion would be to either pay the fee to get on the grounds of Kennedy Space Center or to get there EARLY and hit Jetty Park in Port Canaveral. I wish I had done one of those now...BUT I still got a great view and I could hear/feel it launch. What a rush man. I definitely recommend it to any and everyone.

Can you still get on the grounds of Kennedy for a launch

Jul 5, 2006, 8:43 AM

For security reasons, I seem to recall that access to the grounds was by invitation only.

It was amazing...

Jul 4, 2006, 6:54 PM

as the countdown clicked away, all the people in the highrise condos started counting down from 10...then all the people on the beach joined it. I know its sounds ghey, but when I first saw it actually lift off...I was breathless.

It means a lot.

What a fantastic experience that I have literally waited a lifetime for. Glad to know the good folks in the Clemson Family appreciate that.
