How's this for a proper GT punishment...

Jul 15, 2011, 11:18 AM

I don't especially want their tarnished title.

I doubt there's legal precedence to make them give us a chunk of that BCS loot.

But here's something that COULD be done, would hit the Jackets in the pocketbook and perhaps send a message to others...

The next time the Jackets play the three teams they had to forfeit at home, make them road games instead.

In other words, the next scheduled Clemson-GT game in Atlanta would be moved to Clemson, the next GTech-UGA game would be moved to Athens. In essence we'd see GTech three straight times in the Valley, gleaning the home revenue to make amend for their perfidious behavior.

I don't care what they do with Iowa, but whatever it is, it's going to be in Ames.

It doesn't undo the past, but it dang sure might make them think about the future.

Quite possibly the best idea for punishment that I have seen yet. That truly will make an impression with regards to future transgressions.

That is a great idea Rev. but, as you know, the NCAA isn't interested in good ideas.

Good idea Rev, make them pay in the future since vacating wins from the past is such a BS penalty.

great idea Rev; I sure agree that this would help in the future.

I like it but

you know Swofford would make us share the revenue we hauled in from the game with the rest of the league. He would find a way to exempt FSU, maybe based on the them being a lower academic school. As far as Iowa, I would think they would want that game played in their stadium in "Iowa City". :)

shared with the conference.

Not a bad idea.

Jul 15, 2011, 11:34 AM

What is the point in forfeiting a game, if the other team doesn't get any type of restitution.

Great idea!***

What a wonderful and original idea. Rev. I dont see but one problem, it makes too much darn sense! Swofford will never go for it, does not benefit the blue bellies.

I like that idea actually. Conferences could also take away 10-20% of a schools revenue share for x number of years and redistribute evenly throughout the rest of the conference.

i'm surprised that you like it.usuc might not have a home game for 2-3 yrs.if the ncaa adopts this idea.

military_donation.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

They would have to play all sec games at neutral site

Jul 16, 2011, 8:58 AM

With everyone under investigation

The NCAA infractions folks would never buy it

I've always suspected that there is an inverse relationship between a person's ability to understand common sense and the number of university degrees held by that person.

As a group, those people are educated beyond the limits of their intelligence.

A better idea....

They could find a ref who will not call holding against us on a big play.
