Shout Out To The CB group!

Posted: Sep 17, 2019 6:45 PM

Shout out to the defensive backfield! More specifically the corner backs! You haven't heard a ton of Derion Kendricks name. Or AJ Terrell through 3 games.
This my friends is a good thing. When you hear a CB name all game long it's usually b/c they are like hot butter on breakfast "TOAST". Especially want to give a shout out to DK; making the transition isn't easy but he seems to be making it seamlessly.
PFF has a way of grading DB's based on the # of available targets they allow. In other words, if you blanket a WR to the point the QB don't even try to throw it his way; you're doing good/great! It would be interesting to see where DK is on a list like that. He's doing a fantastic job.

Of course, as a former DE, all of this happens b/c of the guys up front making the QB feel uncomfortable. So shout out to the front seven as well.
But today, giving a big shout out to the defensive backs!

Good Job guys!

This article explains why I think the Clemson WR's who posted DK would be an All - American were on to something!
When you listen to player interviews at offensive and defensive players talk about him you understand why he hasn't had many passes thrown against him.

As they say in the bleachers of South Pointe: "he a daaaawwwggg out there"!

Big ups to CB Coach Mike Reed. He has quietly produced a steady flow of CBs into all ACC performers & NFL players. Having been a CB in college and the NFL himself, it seems he is ideally suited to coach this position. It is evident players seems to relate to him by his ability to recruit the top notch talent we seem to be getting at this position. Truly Dabo saw something in him a made a great hire for the staff.

I agree completely

This secondary group as a whole has been really fun to watch but I agree that the CB's are quietly putting together something special. I'll be very interested to see how their progression continues.
