Heard a clip they tells his players in bowl practice, in regard to Clemson, to "kick their a$$". This was followed up with multiple dirty hits on the QB Saturday night.
Then, in multiple post game interviews, complains about officiating. This is NOT a good look for recruiting quality guys at a high level. Due to his immaturity as a leader, Ohio St will probably make it back to the playoff (who in the B10 is going to stand in their way) but that program will never win a national championship on his watch.

If he stays, they will probably win a championship eventually. You not liking him has nothing to do with it.
I could see him leaving for the NFL in a few years.

I think he is going to be very successful at Ohio State. He looks like a heck of a football coach.
And, just having watched his interview with the ESPN crew and Urban Meyer after the game, I would say he handled himself pretty well there, especially given the outcome of the game.
Regarding the overturned calls, while I think they were legit overrules of the calls on the field, if the same calls had gone against us, that fumble/TD would have been hard to swallow.

He's a really good playcaller. Day came out with a really good gameplan against us, for instance, and his guys were obviously ready to play. He clearly has the guys playing hard and intense...and, as you mentioned, borderline dirty, but I can respect all of that. (The whining and carrying on about the refs, much less so.)
Day also inherited a loaded team and extremely high-quality staff, though, all assembled by Urban Meyer. One thing about Meyer was, he had a certain detachment and cold-eyed objectivity that allowed him to execute the role of CEO very well, and he showed a willingness to part ways with coaches who weren't getting it done (like former OC Tim Beck, who presided over that 31-0 shellacking Clemson put on them in 2016, and he replaced Beck with Day).
What about Day? Nobody knows. He's never been a head man before.
Day's pretty obviously a good gameday coach. The real question mark is going to be: what kind of steward of the program is he going to be? How will he continue to maintain the culture, talent level, and the hiring and firing of staff? Because he's already had two massive losses - his co-DC, Jeff Hafley, who took the BC job, and his passing game coordinator/QB coach Mike Yurcich to Texas.
Because being a gameday coach and the head man of the entire program are not remotely the same thing.
