Louisville DE says Tigers can expect some "drunk, crazy fans"

Louisville defensive end Sheldon Rankins has some advice for Clemson fans and players who make the trek to Kentucky for Thursday night’s primetime matchup between the 0-2 Cardinals and the 2-0 and ninth-ranked Tigers: Expect it to be crazy. Photo by Jamie Rhodes / USATODAY Full Story »

If they were 'torn up,' about losing to us last year...

I'd imagine half of them are on xanax after that Houston loss.

They'll be drinkin' and drivin' by halftime. Hope the troopers are ready.

Oh Sh!t, I was just going to say the same thing!!! :)

Wait...you "dominated" defensively?

Posted: Sep 14, 2015 7:23 AM

your offense had 35 total yards more than we did.

Defensive battle yes, but "dominate"?

which game were you watching?

badge-donor-10yr.jpg

Stout also made BC and SYR defenses look dominate too.

these guys are desperate. Hopefully they will keep it clean

With Petrino

Fat Chance of them playing a clean game with that DB as head coach.

It's "dominant." And BC and Syr both had good defenses

[1]

BC was 12th in YPG, and Syracuse was 29th. I'm not saying Stoudt played great all year, but it's interesting that just about all the teams he had to start against had top 40-50 defenses, while the ones Watson started or played most of the game against didn't.

2018 white level memberbadge-donor-10yr.jpg

They absolutely dominated defensively

Posted: Sep 14, 2015 1:39 PM

He's not comparing what their defense did to what our defense did. The fact of the matter is, UofL played very well defensively in that game (including when Watson was in).

Hope they bring designated drivers......

Now I might travel for this one!!

Imagine what you could make as an Uber in the second half alone!

How awesome would that be... They're storming out looking for their Uber driver and I pull up with my flags and decals! lol

Uber ride of shame!

Hmm: Anyone else read this and think "Raleigh?"***

I disagree

Their fans are much more sane and enthusiastic. I, for one, would actually like a rivalry with Louisville. They are a good program and seem to do things a lot like we do. Don't count out their crowd noise. They probably have the second or third best crowd in the ACC, behind Clemson and maybe FSU.

VaTech may have something to say about that.***

You can't blame them for drowning their sorrows***

Some "drunk, crazy fans"

[1]
Posted: Sep 14, 2015 8:21 AM

That could be any of a number of teams' fans we play every year. The noise won't bother us, because we don't audible very much, but it will be a good and exciting atmosphere to go ###### a win from them. If they were to win the game it would be a huge surprise. They don't have the talent, nor the depth we have, and though Petrino is a good coach, he isn't a magician. It's Jimmy's and Joe's, not X's and O's that will win this game. We too deep!

Interesting. Good players and teams almost always get their confidence from their talent and execution. Mediocre teams desperately need their fans to be rowdy. It won't help here.

It's just taking care of the business you are trained to perform. Do our jobs, the way we are trained to perform, and the results will be just fine.

is going to equal the noise from DV? Perhaps Mr. Rankins is already drunk.

I have experienced the fans at Papa Johns Stadium, yeah they drink and love their team but at no time were they jerks. They watch and support their team but were not obnoxious or unruly. Those of you making the trip will enjoy the stadium and atmosphere.

That HAS to make the President and AD and school officials

Very proud!

The team views the fans as drunk and crazy

I worry more about us being able to line up & make a 3rd & 1 or the dreaded 4th & 1 than their fans. I hope we can score on big pass plays - we haven't blocked anybody since 1989.

widhorse, you must have been in a coma since 1989 to make that statement. I think our team has done pretty well at blocking and tackling for many years.

Louisville has not played very well defensively and they are now going up against one of the most explosive offenses in the nation. Who cares what the fans do, as long as they don't interfere with the game. If they do, the Tigers will gladly accept an easy forfeit. Clemson, 38-21.

If they are drunk before the game, after the 1st half they'll be comatose.
