This is one of those cases where the question is so bad that it will be talked about and thus giving the reporter exactly what he wants, to have his question and the answer talked about by everyone else. Questions like these drive me crazy. I wish reporters who did this would be called out by the interviewee and then have some kind of punishment. Nothing outrageous like a fine or banning from future media sessions. Maybe just turn the camera to them and have a designated “BS-Question Cop” open hand slap them in the face.

A shot gun blast in their writing hand would slow them down I think, and it should help them to stop bringing their personal opinion in as news worthy!!!

I'm for it. Chance are, had he grown up with corporal punishment as a student, he'd have learned 'stupid' questions don't reflect well on journalism. (I'm not even going to broach integrity!)

Almost anyone can get a media pass. I know, because I got one many years ago and with a fake newspaper --- "THE SIX MILE SENTINEL". It didn't come with a pen, pencil or notepad but It did give me a free pass to the Furman football games.
