This is a very interesting read from SI.

If it turns out to be true this soccer game was the source of explosive COVID-19 outbreaks in Italy and Spain, it doesn't bode well for spectator involvement at major sports events after restrictions loosen.

A Chinese couple that flew into Milan then traveled to Rome around Jan 25th. Geneticists mapped the DNA of the virus in Italy to them.
The Chinese government his this virus from the world and left their borders open.
