Jordan Morris. He's really, really good, probably compares - and I know the purists will blast me, since to suggest such a thing is just...heresy - to a young Wayne Rooney. Compact, strong, very fast, relentless, and very opportunistic. Sorry, he's more like a young Rooney than any player England has produced since. He just is.

In Europe, mind, Morris would have been part of pro team since he was 16 or 17, training and living with professionals; American soccer purists make much of the fact that going to college has "retarded" Morris's development into an elite player. I personally dunno...he scored against Mexico, against Mexican pro's making millions, he scored for the American U23's in a couple different tournaments against European pro's, and he's consistently fended off attempts from professional teams - including the Seattle Sounders, who own his MLS rights - to sign him.

And he still plays for Stanford. He'll still probably make the next USA World Cup team.
