Your reigning ACC Champion #11 Clemson Soccer team starts back...

Aug 10, 2015, 5:20 PM

this Saturday at Historic (and newly renovated) Riggs Field with an exhibition game against Presbyterian (7:00 PM). We are returning 8 starters from last year's team and look to build on last year's conference championship and 12th place finish in the nation. Here's a preview of the 2015 team and most recent recruiting class from College Soccer News...

these kids have been working hard

i've seen them a few times lately on the track and on their practice field (right next to the outdoor track and next to indoor football building) before first light in the morning

these guys don't fool around, they are putting in he work!

and Riggs Field looks great... looks like a golf fairway or green, it's so smooth looking with the new turf

Been posted almost 4 hours and only ONE thumbs up? I understand many people don't care for futball, but we are talking about CLEMSON futball.

Watched them absolutely pour it to Davidson in the Spring right after the Clemson Spring Game. Davidson wasn't a great school or anything but they looked absolutely helpless; Clemson was pretty much scoring at will and the way they were possessing, pressing, and moving the ball around was impressive. Very sophisticated, aggressive scheme...Noonan knows his business.

Was also watching Tommy McNamara yesterday in the New York derby...NYCFC against New York Red Bulls, in Red Bull Arena. It was intense...nasty, mean-spirited, studs-up soccer of the kind we're not supposed to play here in America, in front of a packed house of almost 26,000. Red Bull won 2-0...against a NYCFC team that featured Frank Lampard, Pirlo, and USMNT regular Mix Diskerud in the midfield...NYCFC's fourth midfield starter was McNamara, who honestly was the best of the four. When your little Clemson player can be said with a straight face to be better on the day than Lampard, Diskerud, or freaking Pirlo - who is the most-revered Italian soccer player of the last 20 years - then you're playing some pretty good soccer.
