The wonderful things you guys had to say in reference to my post about Herman McGee. I hope the right people in the athletic office read it also. I truly hope that we, as a group, can pursue this matter and have him truly recognized for his devotion to the Clemson Tigers.

(living in Colorado has a few disadvantages), but you hit the nail on the head about Herman. Talk about a lot of change as far as training staff goes, Herman and Fred Hoover were it for all sports in the early 60s. Any one with a problem waited until Hoover wasn't around (or at least wasn't looking) and went to Herman for treatment. He made everyone feel that they were important to him and the school's athletic program.
On a side note when I first saw Fred Hoover at Clemson we both looked at each other and had that "where do I know you from look on our face." I was the first to remember I had met him 4 years earlier when I was a freshman in high school and he was in the Air Force stationed at the same base my dad was at in northern Maine. He was helping with the base's youth basketball team.
