Jenkins - Father and Daughter

Just saw this in the Washington Post (real paper version). Have read articles from both over the past few decades. I can only hope my daughters will remember me in a similar way. I got work to do.

I didn't know Mr. Jenkins, but I wish I had.

Mull on this statement of his for a while. May it speak to you as fathers serving your children:

"So here’s the deal if you want a recipe for father worship, if you want kids who, when you are dying in the hospital, will race at 60 mph across town in search of the grape Popsicle you requested, just to please you one more time. Take your little girl or boy everywhere with you, even into bars. Do small, harmless things with them you shouldn’t, let them off easy and end every conversation with a laugh. But give them your God’s honest truth about what matters, and let them see you work."

I sense I missed on one of God's truest gifts to mankind. The article posted by arlingtonVA is worth the time to listen as you read. I wish I was more like this man I never knew.
