Who would you rather play

[7]
Posted: May 28, 2012 9:02 PM

Oklahoma, Texas, Ok St., WVU, Kansas St, Baylor, Texas Tech, TCU, Iowa State, FSU, and Kansas (and yes FSU is going....if you cant see that your blind)

OR

GT, Duke, WF, Syracuse, Pitt, NC St, UNC, UVA, VT, Miami, BC

Just look at it it. Who in their right mind would pick option 2. Miami doesnt even create a good atmosphere when they are winning. The only team i enjoy playing in the ACC right now is VT

After FSU and Clemson leave, others in the ACC will vacate..

[1]
Posted: May 28, 2012 9:04 PM

so option 2 is not relevant for very long.

The ACC cause we got great chance of going 10-2 11-1 every year as opposed to vs the Big 12. Who has better chance of winning the big 12 every year Clemson, OU or Texas? When honest with yourself it isn't us.

military_donation.jpg

going 10-2 in the ACC..

[2]
Posted: May 28, 2012 9:11 PM

is a joke.see wv game from last year

and you can bet the play off..

[1]
Posted: May 28, 2012 9:12 PM

committee that selects the 4 teams will take note of that as well

ACC got 2 teams in the BCS just last year

[3]
Posted: May 28, 2012 9:28 PM

Clemson goes 11-1 they will play in the final 4, Clemson has too much respect to be left out

military_donation.jpg

how did we fare in those two games??

Posted: May 28, 2012 9:47 PM

that is the point i am trying to make.when it comes time for out of conference games against big schools the acc teams tend to do bad

gotta get the to have a shot. Clemson has only had one shot

Posted: May 28, 2012 9:51 PM

we have won the ACC once in 20 years, yet were gonna just go win the Big 12 huh?

military_donation.jpg

maybe we should go to the so con..we would have..

[1]
Posted: May 28, 2012 9:55 PM

a better shot at winning the play offs every year

What would a score from several years back have to do when

Posted: May 28, 2012 10:58 PM

teams are selected for the playoffs? Did they consider Bama's loss to UL Monroe in 2007 in the selection process in 2010 or 2011?

all about winning to me. Sorry but I get jacked when we play Wake, who doesn't? Its Clemson football

military_donation.jpg

but what is the point of winning if you can play for the big

Where is the proof the ACC wont be in the mix? Just a bunch of opinions and no facts. The ACC will be one of the major conferences.ESPN wouldn't have given billions of dollars to the ACC if they weren't gonna be a major conference

"I get jacked when we play Wake." Most ludicrous, battiest statement in the history of mankind. Noon games against the likes of Wake Forest are the reason Clemson football and to a larger extent ACC football are perceived the way they are.

We should beat Wake Forest every single time we play them - that is not cause to be "jacked." I'm not jacked, most fans (yourself excluded) aren't jacked, and the players aren't jacked. This is why we DON'T beat them every time we play them - it's physically, emotionally, and mentally impossible to get up for that type of game.

Bryant, I have just the solution for you. If you become a Pirates fan, the ECU variety, you can have those moments as a fan almost every year.

The same chance Clemson will have next season in the ACC.

Where is your proof of that?

Posted: May 28, 2012 9:36 PM

If Clemson goes 11-1 you better believe they will be in the BCS. Where is the proof Clemson has no shot in the ACC? I haven't heard anyone ligit say the ACC isn't a major conference.

military_donation.jpg

Re: Where is your proof of that?

Posted: May 28, 2012 9:40 PM

Bryant,

I know you love the ACC, but if you cant see the impending demise of the ACC you are looking the other way on purpose.

Its over. The ACC let it be known after they added Syracuse. The Swofford machine is done.

I love Clemson not a conference. Like i said till proof

Posted: May 28, 2012 9:49 PM

comes out I'm not getting all happy. No ligit sources have came out about any of this. 11-1 is what I want every year

military_donation.jpg

How long do you think Clemson will thrive if they stay in

Posted: May 28, 2012 9:54 PM

a dying conference? Other teams will leave the ACC. Its probably going to be FSU. If we lose them, then our TV deal will be renegotiated for a much lower price. If we dont leave the ACC now, then eventually no one will want us when the ACC folds or falls down to mid-major status. If you want whats best for Clemson, then you need us to be in a respected conference.

Thats whateveryone is agruing though. IF this goes down, then this is what we need to do. IF the Big12 is going to expand then we need to go there.

I agree if this goes down

Posted: May 28, 2012 10:16 PM

But if the ACC stays the same then I'm for staying but of course if it gets raided then yes we gotta go and will.

Re: I agree if this goes down

Bryant if you and your coworkers saw the writing on the wall and knew your company could close, would you go with them to a new job or wait for the unemployment line?

By Clemson waiting for the ACC to fail we'll be sitting in the unemployment line while the other fill available spots. Let's use some common sense here.

if we go 11-1 we will not be in the BCS vs one loss teams from the BIG Big 12 Pac 12 or SEC.

We would be picked over.

If we stay in the ACC the only way we get in any thing is to go undefeated while other conferences have that wiggle room to have one oops game.

You are putting our guys at a competitive disadvantage by wanting to stay in this #### show of a conference.

Ain't happening..... Virginia politics would never let it happen, with UVA being a charter member.

VT will never be in B10

Posted: May 28, 2012 11:48 PM

B12 or SEC maybe but never B10- B10 would you be interested in md unc uva or possibly GT if they looked to the ACC.

I just want someone ligit to come out and say

Posted: May 28, 2012 9:46 PM

the ACC isn't a major conference, when that happens ill be 100% on board with leaving. Right now I'd rather beat Wake every year then split with Texas, OU, WV, TCU OK st and K st at best. For those who say they'd rather be 8-4 in the Big 12 instead of 11-1 are just crazy. What's so bad about what Boise has done the last 5 years? How many teams from the big 12 have had better success than Boise st?

What a losers mentality.

Youd rather play the JV squad than step up your game is pretty much what your saying

yeah wanting to go 11-1 every year is a loser mentality

If the ACC falls to mid-major status then its bc we lose FSU

Posted: May 28, 2012 10:00 PM

and maybe VT. Once that happens, nobody will want us. We've got to jump in on this round of expansion. If we wait it out to see what happens then we may miss our chance.

Clemson will never be not wanted and left as a no one

we have too much of a brand to be left behind. Like I said bring something other then if.

That's the attitude that kept us mediocre for years. I'd rather go 6-6 and be respected than go 11-1 and be the joke of college football.

Re: bryant

Was it mediocre when we won a championship in '81? and contended in the top ten through out the decade? Was it mediocre when 9 of our member teams won national championships?

Re: bryant

> Was it mediocre when we won a championship in '81?

You do realize that were it not for Penn State beating Pittsburgh a week after our regular season ended that we would have not won the national title? Pitt was #1 going into the games of 11/28, we finished the regular season on 11/21 and Pitt beat UGA in the Sugar Bowl.

Yes, we very well could have gone 12-0, beating 3 top 10 teams (UGA, UNC, and Nebraska)in the process in 1981 and finished second in the polls because Pitt was ranked ahead of us when we ended the regular season and finished #2. Remember, at the time the ACC was considered weak in football at the time (sound familiar?) so it took a lot of moving parts to fall into place for us to get the elusive title. The season before a one loss ACC Champ UNC faced a seven win Texas team in the Bluebonnet Bowl in the post season. Just 3 years before a one loss Clemson team faced a seven win Ohio State team in the Gator Bowl.

Pitt has 9 national championships.... Syracuse has one

Pitts football situation begs the question.....

[1]
Posted: May 29, 2012 12:04 AM

why has it been left to spiral down to its current condition.. Think how much Clemson fans have agonized over our football program since the early 90's.....and then multiply that exponentially by Pitts numerous NC's.

I'd be interested in hearing some opinions from Pitt fans as to exactly what the scenario has been

name one 6-6 team that is respected?

Posted: May 28, 2012 10:19 PM

A 6-6 sec team isn't relevant but 11-1 Boise has been. All about winning. SC was 11-2 and beat Clemson yet Clemson got all the national hype and who everyone was talking about when we were 8-0
