Where We Stand As A Program

Dec 2, 2012, 10:09 PM

Yeah, LSU does not run a fancy offense. They may not score a lot but, they do not allow points to be scored against them. One of these days Clemson will realize recruiting 5 running backs every year and not offense line man that we will beat nobody. And, that recruiting 5 star linebackers but no defensive lineman will allow us to beat nobody. IF we want to win games then we should learn to run the ball and be tough. Fancy does nothing in a game where you bleed, sweat, and get dirty. This fancy football is not football..... it's called soccer. You want to out run everybody and be all over the stat sheets then good for you. This type of offense just doesn't cut it people. Solid Orange t'ill I die but honesty is all that matters. Blocking, Tackling, and Running the football is how you play football. Can I get an Amen? Oh, and maybe a 220 pound running back with some hair on his chest would be nice. Merry Christmas, Happy New Year and Hopefully we can beat LSU. See y'all next year with hopefully some major changes. GO Tigers.....

P.S Oregon is the best offense in the country statistically. CAN SOMEBODY PLEASE ASK CHIP KELLY HOW MANY NATIONAL TITLES THEY HAVE WON IN THE LAST 5 YEARS?

Wish you were a S&C coach.

Good post.

Funny, we do recruit O-Linemen and D-Linement

Dec 2, 2012, 10:21 PM

In the last 2 years we have signed 7 O-linemen and 8 d-linemen...do those guys not count?

D line gets blown up and offensive line is mediocre at best.

Really, our D-Line was solid against the run this season

Our O-Line played fine except for one game.

Still doesn't dominate in the run game like most would like.

There were plenty of games this year where we averaged under 4 yards per carry against some pretty bad defenses. We're still average in short yardage at best.

I think Caldwell is doing some good things, but I was disturbed that none of those guys stood up to Clowney and Swearinger when they were talking smack to our players.

Brandon Ford...our WR-sized TE of all people, was the only one who stood up for the specialists.

You make some good points. You put our skill players behind a dominant Oline and ..whew. You put our defense behind a pass rushing Dline and I bet they get a lot better.

Takes time though. The program is moving forward. Hopefully the lines are the next thing that takes big steps.

We must do these things to be a dominant football program in the South. It takes time but we get made fun because its true. We never back up what we say so its time to face the truth.

I'm not arguing with everything you say but do you even pay attention to who we recruit....our OL/el recruiting isn't the issue it's how we develop them and we aren't....but this notion we don't get dl is absurd just look at last years class

i think we got exposed against Bama in 2008. Saban got to Bama and immediately got the necessary people to make his offensive and defensive lines dominant very quickly. Dabo hasn't done anything to correct that as evidenced by 4 straight loses to usc. People might say it takes time, but how much time are we talking here? 5 years? 10 years?
