Glad to see Lakip redeem himself after mistakes in the earlier games. It's easy for us to criticize him, but until you are in the same position, you never know how you will respond. Anyway, I feel for the kicker. You can go from hero to zero in a matter of seconds. Lakip, if you are reading this, kudos to you and keep your head up! I see you being just as good as the Cat man!

I have to admit....I gave up on this guy

And I would have not let him kick ever again but the coaches know more than me and they were right. The 45 yarder was impressive.

When the Game is on the line....

It was good to see him bounce back and make a few, but there's night and day difference when you're not up by a good margin and you're at home. When the game is on the line, makes the kick a whole lot harder. I'm not convinced yet.

Yeah, when he kicks a game winner I'll be sold on Lakip. It's not good when you have to hold your breath everytime the FG unit comes on the field.

The first FSU miss was on the 1st drive

of the game. I would never call it low pressure being on the road at #1, but it wasn't exactly a high pressure kick either.
The fact that he still believes and he looked solid on Sat bode well going forward. Now he just needs to spend the summer with Morton Anderson.

The pressure was just way to big for Lakip in the FSU game so early in the season, and in his career. It was the same way for Mr Automatic Catanzaro at the start of his career. The only kick that could match the LSU moment for Catman now, would be a super bowl winning kick moment.

The Cat-Man had a rough first year too if I'm not mistaken:

I'm sure he mentioned that to Lakip at some point. As soon as you give up on yourself, you're lost. We went 6-7 in Catanzaro's first year due to some missed kicks. Despite it all, Cat brought his A game every year after and was GOLD for us. I think Lakip can do big things.
To be fair, he may have missed some points two weeks ago but he didn't snap the ball over Watson's head or fumble in the red zone. That was just a sloppy game for us.
This team is good enough to run the gauntlet until Thanksgiving.
