What is the point

Jun 1, 2019, 3:45 PM

of an offer of a scholarship if it cannot be accepted?
Is really an offer? It sounds like something that is not very useful as a recruit. To me it’s like offering to
employment to someone but telling them they can’t accept it.

sometimes you offer but they wait and the spot fills up***

Maybe it's a maybe?
Like being on the admissions waiting list.
It's better than no offer.

It's an offer now, it will be with a full scholarship after they have met the retirements of the coach doing the offering. That is what recruits understand bc that is what their HS coaches has told them what an offer meant. I'm sure if a kid wants to commit, their HS coach will get with the school that has offered to see if the offer is a commit-able offer, and the college staff may say yes, or that they need to see more of the kid before the offer is a commit-able offer. That is the way I've been told the offer thingy works....

Imagine the absolute 20 best companies offering you a position, along with a bunch of other guys, based on an overall rating for all candidates. Therefore, the power is mostly up to you to figure out where is best for you to go work, proportionate to your said rating.

Well for 1 thing it boils down to simple math with recruiting. I believe CU offered 94 kids and others Universities up to 400. I do beleive that number falls well outside the NCAA bylaws and it is up to the kid to choose in a timely manner before slots fill up.
