What are peoples thoughts on a parking garage somewhere?

Parking is getting bad when we have to use the New Spring facility and bus people over.
Could a parking garage be built somewhere near or on campus?
What are peoples thoughts on this idea?

it's way out away from the athletic campus and works for high rises, Hendrix center, Lightsey, etc

I'll take it that you haven't or you have never suggested it. I have. Not good.
Why? Parking garages are designed for - couple cars in, couple cars out - at a time. NOT emptying the entire facility at once. It is gridlock like you have never seen. If you are on the top level, you might see the sun rise.

Concrete parking garages are also VERY expensive to build. We tried to get Army approval to build such garages on the Army post I worked at, since we were short of buildable land, but never could get support due to the high cost.

As a former student, this idea was floated around many, many times and it was shot down each time. I think primarily because of aesthetics, and the location. It would also upset IPTAY parking, as who wants to tailgate in a parking garage? Oh, and we know IPTAY runs the university anyway!

Parking at New Spring is just fine. Bus arrangement is great.
