abundant of quality backs Clemson has? Dabo gets it. Keep in mind, I'm going to try and be totally objective here. Quality depth enables competition and leads towards a better fine tuned engine on game-day. If nothing silly happens, I don't see anyone on the schedule that can beat the Tigers. However, the exception is Georgia Tech at home. Yes, it is a home game, but GT's QB has some wheels and is running the option like my grandpa did on the playground at 11-years-old in 1929. I'm not knocking the Jackets or anything, but lets be serious, the Wreck run an offense that these college kids have never really seen. Needless to say, Venables will watch enough Jim Thorpe films to figure out a way to disrupt that whole silly offense the Jackets have going in ATL.
ACC Champsionship: We play Georgia Tech again. #### here we go again with this old school stuff. We beat the Jackets by 3 thanks to a late boot field-goal.
Playoffs: Who knows
Name a back on the roster than can do this, I'll wait.

Brooks catches the ball very well. He also has zero pop through the hole.
There's a term for a guy with that skillset...and it's wide receiver.
I just don't see him starting - or getting much action - at RB, sorry. He was clearly the fifth-best RB on the field in the Spring Game. When Choice is healthy, he'll drop to #6.
I'll allow that maybe he just isn't healthy yet, but unless he shows something more than we've seen, he's been passed - thoroughly - by the other backs on the roster.
Maybe they will come up with a package that works for him - third down, maybe - but, sorry, just don't see it. Gallman's the best pure rusher we've got. Davidson - if he can hold onto the ball - is our home-run hitter and change-up guy. Tyshon Dye is our tank and battering ram, and CJ Fuller looked like another Reggie Merriweather, with maybe even a little more speed.
Brooks got 18 yards on 10 carries. While guys like Gallman and Davidson were absolutely running ape. The two rushed a combined 13 times...for 171 yards and 3 TD's, and showed big-play ability almost every time they touched the ball. The difference was pretty...glaring.

I think it will be Gallman and Dye sharing most of the load and Brooks and Choice doing spot work and relief. Fuller and Davidson will see limited opportunity with all the talent we have at the position ...and that is not a bad thing . We have recruited some very capable backs.

as our biggest threat on the schedule this year. GT will be a tough game but im not worried about there triple option offense as long as Venables is coaching our defense. Yes they beat us last year but that was due to the poor play on our offense and QB position than our defense. I think they had only 1 TD last year? the rest were field goals and the INT's Cole Stoudt threw. As far as Zac Brooks starting, no offence to him but i think with a healthy Adam Choice, he is our 4th best RB on the team. Wayne will start with Dye behind him and Brooks will be the 3rd RB unless Fuller takes that spot or Adam will be 100% by the time Fall practice starts. Just my opinion

Zac Brooks has done absolutely nothing other than this catch. Isnt it pretty obvious when true freshman like Choice do more from day one? Zac Brooks is an all around guy that doesnt do anything exceptional. His catching ability is good to great I guess. He runs too high, doesnt move the pile because of his bodyweight, and doesnt have elite speed OR vision. I like him, and want him to succeed, but by all measurable means of athleticism for the RB position, he just doesnt have it like the other guys. You were a Corico Hawkins/Wright and DJ Howard fan too werent you? Im still waiting for the guy that told me, "you just wait and see, mark it down" to come out of his hole. Lol

Corico Hawkins, HA,AKA Mr. Out-of-position. That's funny. I almost threw my beer through my TV dozens of times back then, screaming "that back coming out of the backfield is your's 42, #$@%!!!!!!!"

You don't like your money, do you Asheville? Brooks is a 'match-up' talent...like a number of players on the team. I suspect we'll see players who get lots of PT one game, and hardly step over the lines in the next one. Lots of weapons to game plan with.

Zac Brooks will a 3rd back.
We won't have a 1000 yard rusher this year because we'll rotate 4 running backs consistently.

line until he gets hit and that's it. Not much wiggle or elusiveness, and he's not gonna run over many people either with his size and build. That's why I see 4 or 5 better RBs on the roster. He is a good pass catcher and could provide matchup problems coming out of the backfield though, so he could see some situational PT when that is called for.

Love the grandpa and Jim Thorpe references LOL!! But I didn't see the argument for why ZB would start over Gallman.
I remember the Danny days when he had a stable of backs that he used interchangeably (Terennce Flagler comes to mind). That's what I think will happen. Gallman may get the start, but to keep the pressure on, we can show fresh backs with different attributes, plus Dijon is always a threat.
As my buddy Flounder says: "Oh boy is this great!!??"

and I think when he gets to show what he can do while in shape and healthy he will be our #1. He hits the hole like a man. He is what we needed last year on short yardage and goal line. OAN: maybe our new OC's will practice snaps under center so we don't have a repeat of FSU last year. It blows my mind how you can take a snap from center coming out of the endzone but cant do it to get it in.
