We beat GT in a downpour too. Being soaked to the bone isn’t soon forgotten nor does it slow the Tigers down. Lots of hurricane experience.

We played GT in Atlanta (of course) on September 28, 1963...My 13th birthday...JFK still had a few weeks left... Mom an Dad took me to the game and it rained from sunup to sundown. And the roads were not like they are today... Dad found a hardware store and bought a sheet of plastic that we huddled under...We lost (of course)... I somehow can remember Billy Lothrige (SP?)as the GT quarterback...and being surprised at seeing Black folks eating at a Woolworth lunch counter... Seems that a lot of good things have changed since then...
