Watching the ESPN Field Pass replay on the U and not ONE of these idiots mentioned that it should have been targeting.

Also the late hit on Higgins in the end zone after his catch.

At least the main broadcast had mentioned his. TL might be 1 inch shorter today.

TL lowered his head, which probably negated a targeting call. However, I've seen it still called. PAC12 refs not used to physical play like that I guess.

I agree, TL lowering his head probably prevented that one being called. We did get the personal foul for hit out of bounds and a roughing the passer on the same play Tee was hit after his TD. Muse had a questionable one on Tua so maybe they averaged out. I just can't believe there weren't 70 holding calls against Bama (every play).
Penalties Last Night
Tigers - 1 for 12 yards Bama - 6 for 60 yards

Yeah, I think the lowering of the head made it at least questionable enough to where they didn't want to call it there in such an important game. I personally didn't have a problem with not calling this as the refs were pretty consistent all night IMO with letting the players decide the game on the field.

Wasn't Lawrence the ball carrier on that play?

You almost never see targeting called on a hit on the ball carrier.

So just as well let it be.. Trevor didn't react so that's the best outcome

I wanted a call but...

I considered that Trevor was a running back and the hit wasn't vicious. Kids are taught to put their helmets on the ball. Everyone knew it was going to happen including Trevor. I don't think I've seen this called on a running back.
