Thoughts on recent developments

Belk defecting, Pickens choosing USCe. I personally think Clemson will endure, but opposing recruiters can say things from "they already peaked" or "you can start with us right away". Some of these in-state players want to go against the grain or have the mentality if they chose USCe, they will make it great like Clemson already is. Long term Clemson will be better off taking the players that want to be here and are committed to the team (not just their own success).

They can say that to Bama too.

We really just missed one recruit. Belk is just an odd transfer story. Sucks to the see the coots get half of their starting line for a few years just like that though. They may have hit the jackpot. I doubt they ever have any depth though.

Did I miss something in the last day or so: did Belk already choose the cocks?

Endure? Yeah CU will endure and prosper going forward, recruiting the way the staff does leaves little doubt. When any sane kid looks at depth charts he does not need a genius level IQ to figure out He is not gonna start as a freshman at CU at DE. WE are stacked at DE. If we did not pull the group we did in this cycle I would be somewhat concerned, as it is I am not concerned.

Agree and can't really blame Pickens for not wanting to

come to a place that is loaded at DE. I just wish he had gone somewhere other than SC.

Number one DE in South Carolina over number three player in the country! Not in my book.

They are both 5 stars and ....

Pickens is also rated the number #3 DE in the nation by 2 sources and #5 by another. No telling who will be better. They have similar rankings. I think Henry is a WDE and Pickens SDE.

Who cares? We wanted Henry more.***

guess last year was so dominant on recruiting early on that it seems like something is off this year.

We’re offering a bunch of kids that get posted on tnet article as saying Clemson is a dream school and dream offer and get put on everyone’s short list and no sooner than the article is posted they’re committing to someone else. And at least at this point these aren’t kids in the “top 100” . Not here to argue star power but it seemed like last year everyone was a high 4 or a 5*. Tops in their state etc.

I think dabo and comapny are throwing out offers like candy at a parade this year. which leads to more stories on tnet.

Didn’t really think about it that way but you’re right. Really didn’t have many to throw out there. Good point.

Muskoot has an opportunity any coach would dream of. Everything they attempt to do is modeled by Clemson’s success. It took Dabo some years to swing it and Chump has garnered their patience, in my opinion. In the end, he along with they, will continue to suck!
