They just don't get it....

I was reading over some of the Vols boards because it makes me feel good when they are in sorrow...and they can't understand for the life of them how this has happened. Why Tee has committed to Clemson....all they keep talking about is how he will change his mind after they hoist that playoff trophy and how much h3ll he's going to have his last year at Oak Ridge...
He's coming to Clemson because he cares about his future. He wants to be developed and coached properly to become ready for the professional level. Instead of having an open mind here, they take it personal and ignore the fact that the only recent player in the league that was a receiver at Tenn to have success is Jason Witten. Their fan base isn't as bad as USUC

Consistently overrated and no hardware. What you did 15 years ago does not matter to a recruit today.

the best opportunities in life, and Clemson clearly offers that best opportunity at this time. These kids owe their in-state colleges or their fan bases nothing, just like it is here in SC.
Remember when UT used to feast off of SC's best talent, back in the day when they were nationally relevant? It's a fading memory, but fresh enough to appreciate the complete turnaround that's happened there. Judging from the entitled sounding comments, UT fans have yet to grasp their newfound place in the hierarchy.
Go Tee! And Go Tigers!

Tenn fans think winning several nattys before 1950 means they are relevant with today's recruits.

an opportunity to get a quality education from a university whose academic reputation AND endowment is growing alongside Coach Swinney's Top 5 football program.
One thing I've yet to read amongst all the Higgins comments on Tnet are character questions...I think all of us now trust that Coach Swinney wouldn't have pursued him if he didn't think Mr. Higgins had a good chance at becoming a quality young man.....the vols and coots can scoff all they want, but they're finding out a truth Clemson fans have known for a while.
Good job, Tigers!

They don't get it, because they don't have what we have, and they can't understand the immense difference what we have makes in the lives of a recruit and their families. It is just that simple.

UT is a pretty good medical...

but a football player who is planning on a pro career and a good education isn't going to choose UT over Clemson. Maybe the kid just wants a top 20 education. Then again, maybe he doesn't want to waste talent for three or four years losing 5 games a year.
