The movie "Safety" will only be streaming on Disney+?

Am I understanding this correctly? I believe the movie won't reach as many people as many fans think. Not in theaters? Only on the Disney app?.....I feel like it's going to be pretty much a Hallmark movie which is disappointing.

Not really. Disney+ is very much going the Netflix route and there's a bunch of new content worth over two billion dollars, I believe, going in. These are big-budget movies done with traditional movie production values, but the platform on which they are released is now different.

Unless you're an MCU movie, releasing to theaters increasingly is not cost-efficient, since unless there's a new MCU movie newly released, you can pretty much kick tumbleweeds around the halls of a movie theater, they're that empty nowadays.

Nobody goes to movies anymore. Ever. Again, well, unless it's an MCU movie. Getting on a streaming platform is just better business.
