NASCAR Related Question

We're going through Charlotte on 77 later this week. If you wanted to visit a stock car race shop or museum while going through where would you suggest for most interetsing yet easy to get to. Thanks

All the real race shops are in Moorseville, NC(except RCR and one or two others) but most teams have a show shop/museum in the surrounding areas. Pick a favorite and call the main office and tell them what your looking for. They will hook you up. Depending on their schedule, they may hook you up if you know a little history and act excited to see them. Most teams are just good folk.

The NASCAR Hall of Fame is uptown

Hendricks Motorsports is up near the track.
The most interesting historically is Childress Racing in Welcome NC .
The Van tour around Charlotte Motorspeedway is fun.

I wouldn't slow down in Charlotte. The NASCAR Hall is there, but it's dead downtown. While I have heard it is good, I've never been and have a place 35 miles away. Go on to Mooresville and go by some of the shops. Take exit 36 and go left on hwy 150, cross back over 77. Take 1st left on Rolling Hill Rd, bear right on Gasoline Alley, 1st right on Raceway Dr. Shops all over. This only works during the week and I have never been turned away. There are also several museums in area. If you want structure stop in Charlotte at the Hall with the other tourist.

I worked for Sunoco Race Fuel and the advice to go to Moorseville is dead on. They are all just good people and keep their shops so you could eat off the floor. I have never been to a shop I just walked in that wasn't a good time and before I got to know them they welcomed me like family and then asked could they help me.

I live closer to RCR and they have several shops but one show shop and a regular show shop in Welcome, NC.

Terry Labonte has a nice shop in High Point too.

It is race week and a lot of the shops have some special things going on. I know Jr Motorsports is having a fanfest sort of for their fans on Friday of this week it may be worth looking at their website for details.
