Leaving for an "on the field" role. Not sure what that translates to after 10 years as S&C coach. Could be bad for both programs. I love it.

Whoa. Smart plucked away Scott Cochran?

That'll leave a mark. Cochran was incredibly well-regarded as one of the best S&C coaches, like...anywhere. Dude had been there twelve years, and was probably the second-most important guy in that Alabama program behind Saban.

Which is probably why Smart went after him. Be interested to find out what it took to lure him away from the Tide. A lot, I would guess.

Still haven't found his salary listed anywhere at UGA, but he was making $595K at Alabama to be their S&C coach. By way of comparison, that's more than Frank Solich makes to coach Ohio.

Kirby had to have shelled out large to get him.

This is humongous!

Scott Cochran was the most important assistant coach Saban ever had. Not joking at all.

This marks the permanent decline of the Saban era at Alabama. Maybe not this year, but definitely next.

I've mentioned Cochran a couple of times here and some of you know what I'm talking about.

Not sure if he's a legit special teams coach though. This is a big wound to Alabama and may or may not be a big win for UGA. Time will tell.

I am shocked for various reasons. 1 being; if he wanted more why has he stayed at Bama so long? Saban is notorious for being hard to work for. And, not in a, he just wants to get the best out of you way! More like, you will get humiliated in a a very non-ceremonial way.
Something is "a foot"! Or "a fowl" Or something like that mate!
