Was the Senior Platoon the same thing as the Pershing Rifles?

That's a good questions. I don't think they are the same. Dad was one of the founding members of the Pershing Rifles at Clemson his freshman year. I think "39. The Pershing Rifles is a tri-service organization, and consists of members enrolled in the United States Army, Navy, and Air Force R.O.T.C. programs.

I did not have the option of the Navy ROTC in 1970. They must have moved on. My Dad was a Seabee in WWII.

Hello AllieCat82, I'm a neighbor of your sister-in-law. I met your father several times. A true gentleman. And a great family all around.

About that game.
A pro football game at Yankee baseball stadium with a clear shot of the baseball scoreboard, distances to the outfield wall and a halftime show of Clemson military seniors performing drills!
Absolutely one of the coolest pics EVER! I'd love to purchase these for framing.
Thank you to all who contribute to posting these great historical photos!

My brother, Ralph R Stone, Sr., participated in this drill in Yankee Stadium. He passed away in March this year.

My dad is in this picture I guess. He used to talk about marching in Yankee Stadium-he was class of 49. Thanks for posting.

I did want to point out the "Y" formation for the Yankees in the 1954 picture.

That "Y" formation is very cool. Also nice to see the old ballpark again. I spent many hours there growing up. From Mantle to Murcer to Munson. :)
