For all those complaining about the ACC bowl tie-ins it isn't just the ACC bowls that have been renamed and lost luster.

So let me get this straight..with the Orange bowl moving to dec 31..I guess that means that unless an ACC team makes the 4 team playoff..no ACC team will play on New Years Day or later?

New years day is no longer relevant to bowl season. That became clear with the move of the GoDaddy bowl to the 4th. The important games will be played on the 31st and the 1st and all will be equal. Just think some years the playoff semifinals will be played on the 31st. So in most years the ACC will have at least 2 teams playing on those days. I do think we will see a shift to play those games last before the championship but schedules were all ready set for this year.
