Personally I don't care for all orange either. I like orange pants and white tops as our best uniform combo but I'm afraid Dabo hasn't asked my opinion. So here it is for him to read when he's cruising Tnet looking for advice.

Nope.

Dabo does it for a reason. Tommy Bowden's uniform choices - like his teams, actually - were all over the place, whereas you can tell exactly how Dabo rates a game by what we're wearing.

He's always said "orange pants are for championships". Once we crack out the orange pants, it's truly time to get serious. Means we're either playing the biggest make-or-break game of the regular season, the ACC Championship Game, or the playoffs/national championship.

On the other hand, if we're wearing some oddball uniform like those all-purple Barney Suits, you can rest assure we're probably playing Wofford or suchlike.

I like it. It clearly delineates - to the fans and staff as well as the players - where we're at in the year, just by what we're wearing. Good psychological tool and like a lot of good psychological tools Dabo gets a lot of mileage off it.

Do enough of those little kinda things, actually, and that's what people call a "culture". Dabo's as good as any coach I've ever seen at manipulating those details.

The all purple is only for Military Appreciation Day.
