at the end and Clemson #3, after having Breese & Tigers #1 most of year!
Shameful squirreling of new star ratings..putting Bama QB #1 in front of the QB & Clemson commit who beat him in the recent California HS Natty game.

Rankings will not make the team play any better. Purly subjective and political.

Says a lot about the low lifes who run these sites. If you expect integrity, these goobers are going to disappoint every time. It's that remedial sec book learning. lol

There is a conspiracy, crazy to not think so...

They have a business, if they continue to rank the same players, and same teams in the same spots people quit checking their sites. Site hits, ad dollars go down. Folks become disinterested they make less money. Of course they will arbitrarily move rankings around (and try to pass off some ridiculous reason as to why). Their major market is SEC schools, they will land on the side of caution that will help their business the most.
I will say that trying to rank HS kids based on where some recruit analyst thinks they will be drafted is pure garbage. Its like these sports writers who rank a team preseason on where they think they will be ranked at the end of the year.

That's pretty much the long and short of it in my mind too. Some the ratings game is dudes pimping their own schools or manipulate a recruit somewhere - JC Shurburtt's ranking Chris Culliver back in the day as a 5-star WR on the strength of two catches he made in a low-tier All-Star game because Carolina was recruiting him as a WR, not a DB (where he'd played his entire high school career), as Clemson was comes to mind, as did most half the articles Phil Kornblut ever put out - but generally speaking, the rating game seems to be mostly about clicks and subscriptions. Stirring up a little controversy and pandering to the biggest, most active fan bases is kind of the business model. Stagnation is death to that model, and the way Clemson systematically recruits guys in early and then stands by them doesn't create much in the way of heat.
Clemson got a monster class, whatever it's ranked. Maybe its best ever. Again, the hardest and most valuable positions to fill are QB, LT, DT, CB, and DE; those are the spots that are the hardest to fill because quality guys at those spots just aren't out there. And not surprisingly, the genuine big boys, Alabama and especially Clemson, killed it at those spots - both got elite 5-star QB's, both got a pile of athletic, BIG DT's and DE's - though I like Clemson's haul a little better - and both got some nice-looking DB's who probably project to corner. Clemson recruited significantly better this time around at OL - though Alabama had more in the bank - and Clemson probably got a cornerstone LT if Walker Parks does as expected there...though UGA's OL haul (as has been common under Kirby) is on paper the best in the country. UGA didn't do nearly as well elsewhere, though; they only signed a low-end 4-star pocket passer at QB and only 3 DL total. So UGA got a very good class, but it is seemingly not loaded with program-changing guys at impact positions as Clemson's and Alabama's classes are, however many "ratings points" they get.
FWIW.
