Along with most of the other FCS conferences, they will play a slightly abbreviated schedule in the spring, including a 16-team playoff ending on May 15.
This is only workable because very few--yes, there are some, but not many--FCS football players will "opt out" to prepare for the draft. If FBS had tried to play spring ball, it was projected that 2-300 top players would opt out. Programs like Clemson and Bama might have lost 7-10 players and be using second teamers to play the Stanfords of the world using mostly first teamers. That's one of the reasons Pac12 teams wanted a spring season; while Pac12 teams still produce some NFL caliber players, their rate of production has dropped significantly. Their spring rosters would have been more cohesive than ours.
We are still more talented as UGA will find out 1st game in ‘21! After another UGA recruiting championship the Tigers will smack them back to earth as our Defense gets better and offense with Ross back will be humming in the Charlotte sunshine!
