Serious question - what do you think coaches see in Howard?

He's smallish, not powerful, not quick, not fast, not elusive.
I understand, kind of, why he was in for the first series (experience/ball protection); but after that, why the #### was he in there? If it was because he knows the offense and picks up blitzes and blocks well, we have two major problems. First, if you want a guy who is nothing but a good blocker, why even have a RB? A RB has got to be at least a little bit of a threat to actually run the ball. Secondly, if we can't teach another RB how to block and pick up blitzes in a year's time, then we either have serious coaching deficiencies or player deficiencies.
So, back to the question - what do you think coaches see in Howard? What is the reasoning for his PT?

He has no vision at all. Missed several holes in first half.

powerful, not quick, not fast, not elusive)?
I think that Davidson is fast and elusive. Galmman is bigger, faster, quicker, more powerful, and more elusive. Choice is bigger, faster, more powerful and more elusive. Flemming is bigger, faster, and more powerful. So all of those guys are not those things.

I would go back to comments by Tony Elliot that

if the backs are "equal" then experience wins. The staff has always protected the experience players until they crash. CJ had 13 and DJ had 11 carries. I think that the plan was for them to split before the game and they opted to not adjust. I would assume changes are coming at RB.

Drawer full of photos?
Your guess is as good as mine. He's certainly not a D1 RB. I hope he makes me eat my words, but I've seen nothing from him in the time he's been here. Loyalty should only go so far; not at the expense of hurting the team. Enough of all this charity.

I've never been very impressed with Howard. He's a servicable back, but I find it hard to believe that he's our best.
