Serious defensive schematic question

First of all, I love BV, and hope he’s here for a very long time. But, I can’t understand why he didn’t pull Davis and move Wallace to nickel, and put Muse and Johnson over the top at safety. He ran a similar scheme last season with Ryan Carter. The Gamecocks weren’t a running threat once we went up 21.

BV wanted to eliminate the HRs which didn’t work.
We played way too soft on coverage and didn’t blitz enough. Tanner Muse was out of place all night and left the middle wide open.
Hate to say it but the Coots WRs are the best we have seen this year and BV knew our secondary couldn’t cover them.
