One of countless reasons why I despise Oklahoma. Obviously not saying that Venables being here is a bad thing, but it's stupid to see such overt nepotism. So gratifying to see them lose

Think we’ll be able to keep BV or will he be headed back to OU? Tough, tough decision.

One reason I dont watch B12 games is the dearth of defense played in the conference.

How bad a DC do you have to be to get fired in a conference known for pathetic defenses.***

Lose to your traditional rival when your team is top five and favored and being fired will more than likely be the outcome!

Hope Coach Venables politely says NO!! When asked about returning as the new DC. Tiger fans know a call or text is likely coming soon, but I seriously doubt CBV is even remotely interested.

Go Tigers ??!!

One bad game against your rival on D is no need for that imo. I would understand if they did it in the off-season but they had seemed to be improved on D this year till the Texas game.

They wanted it, they got it, enjoy. I know I will.

Didn't Texas beat them like two years ago when they were ranked pretty highly? Texas scored like 40 against them in one of their recent games. Mike Stoops should have left when Bob left so that Lincoln Riley could bring in someone else. Oklahoma's defense has been terrible for at least the last 4 or 5 years now.

OU's offense is off the charts - champion caliber for sure. OU's defense is the reason they won't win a national championship, and may not win the Big XII. That is the biggest missing piece for OU and has been for quite some time. In the current football era, it takes a top tier defense to win a national championship (Clemson and Alabama have proven that) and Boomer Sooner ain't got one.

So, the wheel turns a full circle - Stoops was a family sympathy hire and now that big brother is not around to protect him - he gone.

They fire the head coach and he might take it, I know it’s coming like my dog dying but I just don’t want to think about it

I don't foresee Venables leaving while Jake is here

Oct 8, 2018, 12:21 AM

He's talked about how important loyalty is to him, and he's had plenty of opportunities in recent seasons. Lincoln Riley isn't going anywhere at Oklahoma, so that isn't something we need to worry about. I don't foresee Venables leaving for any other DC job, so the only remote possibility I could see would be if Bill Snyder finally retires at KSU.
