Competition's Opinion

Two things working against Clemson... Conference and experience at the head coach psn.
Conference: Florida State is heads and shoulders above Clemson this year. Clemson is heads and shoulders + above the #3 team in the ACC (Duke). You can't tell me that beating your competition week in and week out helps focus on your weaknesses... improve week to week.
Head Coach: This team should have beat SC this year. Given 1 week. Spurrier could have taken the Clemson team and beat a SC team by three touchdowns.
Dabo told everyone he loved the guy who fumbled twice... Great coaches would have been silent and held the guy accountable. As a kid, I would rather play for someone who was OK with my failure. Not sure if I would have improved as a player. I like Dabo.... he is a great recruiter... kids like to play for him.... Not sure the "you dropped the ball but I love you" get's it done.

throw him under the bus the last game of the season. Those drops were flukes. Of course without the turnovers the game probably would've gone to the final minutes. I dare to imagine what would've happened if Clemson was given the ball 6 addtional times.

you coots are such idiots. any coach worth his salt is gonna do what dabo did in public. i am sure young adam will be held accountable when practice starts back. a much better way of doing things other than your coach who throws players and coaches under any bus available. hbc has never done anything wrong.

Two other things: expenditures per player and the number of special admission players

Not sure about about those two....graduation rate is one of the highest in the SEC. Maybe you guys should play in the Ivy league.

I think Clemson has had talent on the teams that have lost to South Carolina in the last 5 years. However, he has been coaching with one arm (at least) tied behind his back because of the recruiting class that Clemson lost due to Bowden's resignation. (which stuck with Clemson for 4 years) He also was given the job with no previous experience, so there has been a learning curve.
To his credit, Clemson has been making progress every year, he represents Clemson in a positive fashion, he has shown to be willing/able to make the difficult decisions to be successful, and he has played in conference championship games. (including winning Clemson's first ACC championship in a very long time) He's also proving successful at preparing players for the NFL. (which should help recruiting in the future)

Clemson was plus six on TOs Dabo beats the OBC by 40. The game plan and coaching was good enough to win.
Since you don't follow Clemson, AH has been solid all year. The first one was unfortunate but as much on Bryant as Humpries. The 2nd was a back breaker. Yeah I guess Dabo could have thrown him under he bus, others would.
I suspect AH is beating himself up enough. As my dad used to say, there is about 12" difference between a pat on the back and a kick in the ###. I will trust Dabo's knowledge of the players to know who needs what.

My problem with your post is bias. Head Coaches are figure

*and not just your bias, but the ignornace of most college football fans
heads for the most part. Don't think the wins / losses are about Dabo or Spurrier. I like Spurrier ok as a character, but I think he is overrated as an actual teacher-coach. SC success is more about having better assistants, money spent better, more quality players in the past several years.
If you want to argue schematics and style of play I might buy more into it. But most of this crap about conferences was started by the entertainment sports media that have money invested in tv contract. It was the same way 20-50 years ago when they had more money invested in the BIG 10, which helped promote that conference.
The great leveler of this is if we moved teams around to prove the point. South Carolina would not be able to compete yearly with FSU (evenly) either, and would also trade losses and wins with Miami, Clemson, VT, GT, add Louisville, ND next season, and would probably get upset once / twice by BC, Duke, UNC, MU or any of the also rans somewhere down the stretch.
To further prove my point: Texas A&M & Missouri. They were middle of the road Big 12 teams-- especially Mizzou (and roster wise still are), but they have been winning toward the top of the heap in the so called media driven "Mighty SEC".
Their Big 12 recruited rosters won't completely roll over until 2016.
