Favorite all time hit, by a Clemson defender.

David Dunham's hit on Boyd was great. But I'm going with his hit on Matty Ice, when Ryan's helmet came flying off! I think he actually threw up on the field after that hit!

great hit, probably would be considered targeting today, but stayed on the highlights for a while

I was at that game. Big hit to be sure. How about DeAndre McDaniel picking off Christian Ponder, pointing at him ("Don't do it"), then blasting him on the sideline and knocking him out of the game...

Broke the shoulder .

No he returned the next season and I remember the ACC did an interview

Posted: Jan 27, 2017 5:21 PM

With both McDaniel and Ponder before the next season started and the interviewer asked what he would do if McDaniel intercepts another pass by him and Ponder laughingly said "move out of the way". Lol

mMarcus Edmond on Louisville's James Quick...

may not have been the hardest hit

but the reverberations are practically endless....

DeAndre McDaniel against FSU....no doubt!!!

Christian Wilkins' hit on Ja'Vonn Harrison in 2015 has to be top 5 for me:

1989...Clemson vs. WV.. Gator Bowl.. Levon Kirkland hit Major Harris until he was throwing up.

Didn't Major's Mom cry about his safety on TV during game?***

Gotta agree....Dunham was a violent hitter. The hit on Matt Ryan from BC...knocked the helmet off and had Ryan on his knees.

William Perry picking up, I think, a Maryland running back and carrying

Another WP highlight I remember is against Duke

when he broke through the line on a punt and drove the blocking back into the punter for the block. Incredible play.

Horton and knocked him over.

David Dunham's hit on the coot defender during the opening kick off

Posted: Jan 27, 2017 5:27 PM

In the 2004 season. I remember it like it was yesterday, coot players met the tigers at the bottom of the hill and started talking trash to our players despite losing 63-17 the year before. Gamecocks received the ball on the opening kick and David Dunham comes flying down the field to put the hit on the ball carrier which forced a fumble and Clemson recovered. It was epic lol

if i may - i'll answer for nat

that time clowney came in unblocked and hit that guy from michigan so hard his helmet popped off

justice had been served to the poor girl who had her jaw broken by that creep. Its a shame his jaw wasn't wired shut too like hers was! Other than that the hit on Matty Ice is king. I bet he still has nightmares about that hit.

HITS by our linebacker on OSU QB in Orange Bowl a few

Posted: Jan 27, 2017 5:53 PM

yrs. ago! He just kept pounding on the guy, and the qb just got more and more ineffective!

Videos would be awesome

But my favorite is probably the Boulware clothesline to cause a fumble. Just awesome.

Just planted the guy. then stood over him with skull & crossbones. Other Clemson defenders went NUTS. Still get chills replaying that in my mind...

The hit on Herschel Walker in '81- when we won 13/3 in DV

best! I was listening to Jim Phillips,he was so smooth, it was one of the few times he was speechless and went "oooohhhh! that was a huge hit! - or something like that.

because he pointed him out before he did it. Christian Ponder still married Samantha so it did not hurt his brain too much.

2004 opening kickoff vs coots that forced a fumble... then the knockout punch by Duane on the coot bench warmer during the brawl.

Don't remember specific games but...

Posted: Jan 27, 2017 8:43 PM

Wasn't it Steven Jackson who was a heat seeking missle on kickoff coverage? That guy left it all on the field.

Shuey burying B Miller in the turf!
