highlights and crowd shots
while the action had gone live again.
don't know what was up with FS1
but their camera crew and production
was worse than anything I have ever seen.
good win but we weren't the better side and got lucky with some goals they should have had.
really going to miss Jones and Wood against (likely) Argentina.
if Messi gets in between the backs like Ecuador did in the 2nd half
he'll score 5 on us...
still, semifinals is nothing to sneeze at.

I wouldn't say they were the better team. They had that spurt after their first goal where yes the should have tied it. But they didn't capitalize on their chances, But for the majority of the game I thought we actually looked really good

Yeah, we dominated - and I mean DOMINATED - up to about 66 minutes. After that, the wheels fell off and we sort of panicked and were lucky to survive.
We were up 2-0 after 65, and it should have been 4-0 or 5-0 at that point. We fluffed three sitters in the first half, some of them in embarrassing fashion. One of 'em is going to make the headliner on the ever-growing Gyasi Zardes Bad Touch Reel. Love you, Gyasi, but Please God clean up that first touch, it's painful sometimes to watch.
For some reason, though, it seems it's just in our national psyche to complicate things and make our keeper stand on his head to preserve the win. Instead of methodically just seeing things out, Jermaine Jones goes and gets a pointless red card right as Ecuador was busy combusting, which would have well and truly iced the match for us, and both teams went down to 10, ensuring the ending was going to be wide open and utterly insane, which it was.
Good entertainment, but man, when we've got somebody down, we need to stick the knife in next time. Argentina will absolutely punish us if we make those kind of mistakes against them. They're the sort of team that can score a hat trick in about five minutes if you give them those kind of chances.
