Here come the 2024 candidates - Haley first

Speaking out against Trump's rhetoric after the fact so that they position themselves for the future - What brave leadership !
And fear-mongering about things that might be proposed by the extremists on the left - how very Republican !
If you are a fan of Ms. Haley, I would ask you 2 things: What did she actually accomplish for SC as Governor ? And what does she actually stand for - what are her policies going forward ??
Ms. Haley is a very milquetoast politician. She can spout a lot of rhetoric without saying anything of substance. And she never seems to say anything that might alienate anyone. But where is her leadership ? her decisiveness ? her vision ? She is not Presidential material.

I agree...Haley just strikes me, anyhow, as another weathervane politician who samples the wind and then regurgitates on cue what she thinks "the base" wants to see. I completely agree she's not leadership material, at all, and I personally never understood why everyone was so high on her. She's just...there, no more dynamic than Mike Pence.
She's also got the same problem most Republicans do right now: she stands for absolutely nothing. (The RNC didn't even have a platform this year; just: more Trump.) That's the real problem. I disagree with a bunch of the items on the Democratic agenda but at least they have one. The Republicans? Nope. Completely, utterly uninterested in governing. They seem to stand solely for blind hatred and opposition to all "liberals", which is pretty much anybody who's not a Fascist, these days. Their position is this: whatever the Dems want, they must be denied. Truthfully the Democrats could probably manipulate the Republicans into Medicare For All, Open Borders, and renaming NPR the "Thought Control Factory" just by coming out strongly against all those things, and then watch Tucker and Hannity jump right on the Socialism Train. (I can hear Tucker's smug voice already: "Think About the Children." And the Animal Farm will follow right along, not even troubling itself to notice that "Four Legs Good/Two Legs Bad" somehow became "Four Legs Good/Two Legs Better", and like, overnight.
Grr. Whatever. Flip-flopping egregiously on issues is clearly not an issue with the party right now, and there is nothing "conservative", fiscally or otherwise, about the GOP right now under Trump's banner.
Until a new voice comes along to take the GOP in some kind of intelligent direction - and Haley hasn't shown nearly the chops for that like say, a Ben Sasse has - this angry militancy, race-baiting, and mule-stubborn stand against science, reason, rationality, civil discourse, and common sense is going to continue to get the GOP destroyed at the polls. If McConnell is smart he'll rip the scab clean off and impeach Trump and cut ties with him once and for all and allow more center-right voices to merge. If McConnell prevaricates and doesn't do that, Trump and his offspring will linger like a bad odor...and the GOP has ceded the center to the center-left because there's nobody from the GOP remaining in the center-right lane to even compete for the middle anymore.
America just saw plain as day where Trumpism leads. It's toxic. Until the GOP purges it they're going to keep losing, because they're not offering anything viable, except more giveaways to the mega-rich who have already gamed the system ludicrously...and oh, yeah, apparently now Fascist insurrections.
That ain't gonna fly any more. The GOP had better figure out a brand that actually works with Democracy, and quick, or they're headed into a long dark tunnel for awhile.

It's a slim to zero chance that anyone who supported Trump completely can be elected. I think Nikke Haley was her own woman overall. I think she has a chance.

Oh, I like her. I think she's okay-to-solid in a lot of areas, including character. People who know her seem to like her and she's competent. I think she could actually be an Angela Merkel type - doesn't really wow you coming in, but just...quietly gets it done once she's in. I think she'd build some consensus, work across the aisle, and be fair.
The problem is, she's probably too moderate to be exciting to the Trumpist wing of the party - which is also heavily misogynistic, by the way - and if the GOP hasn't parted ways with Trump she's going to have to placate them. Which means winning the primary will involve acts of loyalty towards Trump and his so-called "values" that will completely turn off the swing-vote moderates that so sank Trump this past election.
Which will get her murdered in a general election. Maybe literally, if she has to swing back center again and in so doing alienates her own extremists or angers Dear Leader Donald.
Absent a clear vision and a clear voice of her own - neither of which she's shown so far - she's in a pickle for 2024 unless the Donald problem isn't for whatever reason hanging over her head.

Now is his time to show leadership and denounce the entire election fraud nonsense. They already want his head on a Pike, but people will figure this out, well most of them, in four years anyway. Then he can point back to the moment he stood up and told the truth amidst all the chaos and division. If he sits on his hands now, he might as well pack his bags.

ok, I'll answer both questions.
1) he implemented a big tax cut (good news) and built 9 miles of border wall (useless).
2) he stands for himself

Wow, just wow!! Haley has already scared the shyt out of you libs! Gawd, I love it. Talk about shooting in the dark.
Women will get behind her by the millions and millions! Landslide appears inevitable.
She was a phenomenal governor with the nicest of dispositions and a true model for women in politics. Dismiss and bash her all you want but she will be the the Republican nominee in 2024. She will bury Kamala in a flash, especially after four disastrous years of democrat ineptness.
Please continue with your embarrassing misogynistic free for all. Funny as he!!.

extreme candidates have a better chance of getting on their party's ballot, but if they can get a moderate there, they will win.

How did McCain and Romney work out for us? Your point does seem logical but luke warm candidates don’t excite very much.

Trump would have been blown out by Obama. Also, moving forward, nobody anything similar to Trump would ever win again. That experiment was tried and failed. You need the Dems to be an extreme liberal out there and for you guys to have a moderate rational person out there. That would be your best chance.

More people voted yes. Biden got 7 million more votes than Trump. You know why? Because people wanted Trump gone. Trump would have been destroyed by Obama had been in Biden's shoes. Trump was blown out by weak candidate named Joe Biden. That's how bad Trump was.

In ALL of these conservative replies I have yet to see an answer to my 2 questions.
What did Ms. Haley accomplish as governor and what are her policies going forward ?
All of the conservative comments seem to center on - She's a nice person and she is easy to get along with.
So is my neighbor, but I don't think she is presidential material either. (and neither does she)
